The main things I took from this course were to be mindful of your investments and purchases, what your investing into and who is behind the products you buy as a consumer. There were many conversations about cross-border trade and investment which helped students better understand the influences of the power of a country and the laws related to trade. The global monetary system was a topic heavily taught and discussed in class as well as I was able to create a report on the topic and the foreign exchange market. Businesses competing in a global marketplace and where someone from Canada would source and implement a business globally as well as the opportunities and weaknesses of foreign investments.

Semester 6
Jan 2020 - Feb 2020 (Condensed Course)
INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT

I wasn't exactly excited about this course due to the professor that taught it was a tough grader. I had also determined by the title of this course it would be discouraging and too big for me to understand, like the news.
During this course, it was the beginning of COVID-19 cases so I was informed of the possibilities of what could be expected if it wasn't contained in China. this course also really made me be more mindful of my investment by doing research in understanding currency trends.
Semester 5
Sept 2019 - Dec 2019
DIGITAL MEDIA AND MARKETING
I was very excited for this course due to the experience of my professor and having the excitement of not knowing what this class was due to it being the first time it ran.Â
This course introduced me to schedules being missed, uncontrollable problems arising and communication challenges and honestly, that helped make the class bearable and less stressful, Knowing what everyone's expectations of us were it was easy to navigate the situations and work with a company making a real impact. This course ended up influencing my future industry career path choice.
Semester 5
Sept 2019 - Dec 2019
MARKETING MANAGEMENT
I was not sure what to really expect from the class besides knowing a lot of hands-on work and real-life scenarios would be used to influence our understanding. I can admit having my OCMC meetings and this class definitely made it feel very repetitive.
I was not confident when it came to presenting whether it be about my cat or an actual marketing presentation. This course stripped that anxiety, that feeling of being uncomfortable and reassured me of the knowledge I had and my ability to enhance a presentation with my insights and articulations.
Semester 4
Jan 2019 - April 2019
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
I didn't want to start a business and I really didn't want to sit through a course that didn't apply to me. I was so wrong about that.
This course has prepared me for whichever career path I go down and whenever I budget to overestimate my expenses and underestimate my income. It also really helped tie in the accounting work I've had to do and a real business. Kowing how money flows and being able to predict a profitable business idea or not.
Every course impacted my journey to where I am today but the college experience as a whole which heavily revolves around my courses helped me develop soft skills that can't be taught in a class.
